 ASHWAGANDHA BENEFITS AND DOSAGE

Before we discuss Ashwagandha Benefits and dosage, let us first try to understand more about the herb.

A herb that is grown in India, the Middle East, and Parts of Africa. The Word Ashwagandha has its origin from two Sanskrit words i. Ashwa and ii. Gandha. The Word 'Ashwa' refers to Horse and the Word 'Gandha' refers to scent/smell. The herb Ashwagandha, therefore, means the roots of the herb that has a scent or smell of a horse.

The herb's scientific name is Withania Somnifera and has various names like Indian Ginseng, Winter Cherry, etc. The herb is generally classified as an adaptogen, a natural substance that is capable of managing stress. It is considered the most effective herb in Ayurveda to heal various problems in the body. 



ASHWAGANDHA BENEFITS:

The herb is beneficial in treating:

- Digestion problems

- Constipation

- Insomnia

- Stress and Fatigue

- Gastrointestinal issue

- Diabetes

- Fever

- General debility etc..

Ashwagandha has numerous other benefits for both mind and body. It boosts brain function, lowers blood sugar and cortisol levels in the body. The powerful herb is also considered beneficial in relaxing the mind by fighting problems like anxiety and depression. 

Ashwagandha Herb has also gained prominence in the fitness industry. Many fitness experts believe that the herb helps in building muscles and improving strength and performance. Also, the herb is believed to improve sexual performance in men. Over the years, the ashwagandha had gained prominence. There are many brands in the market that are offering Ashwagandha in the form of powder, paste, tablet, or capsule. 

ASHWAGANDHA DOSAGE:

A Dosage of  300 mg of Ashwagandha's root extract with warm milk or water after the meals for at least 45 days is considered beneficial. It can also be taken in a capsule form. Pregnant women are not advised to consume the herb. Diabetic patients may consult the physician before using the herb.
